Ha-Ha-Hot Yoga

On Saturday morning, Rebecca convinced me to join her for a little hot yoga. Heard of this? Bikram yoga? 90-minutes of crazy stretching in a room with a temperature of over 100 degrees and about 40% humidity. Oh---and once you’re in the room, you can’t leave for the entire 90 minutes. You’re trapped.

Here is a snippet of the conversation we had on the way to the studio:

Jodi: ‘But what if I get the giggles? It could happen you know.’

Rebecca: ‘I don’t think you’ll get the giggles. Really. I think you’ll be too busy trying to concentrate to even think about giggling.’

Jodi: ‘But sometimes things are funny. And I have a feeling me, doing yoga, in a sauna that I can’t escape could bring on some giggles. I'm just saying...’

Rebecca: ‘Really. I don’t think you’re going to get the giggles.’

And, as is often the case, she was correct. There wasn’t any time for giggles……………..I didn’t know I could perspire like that! It was a lot of fun---once I figured out I wasn’t going to die. Seriously, it crossed my mind a few times. Rationally, I knew I wouldn’t, but….it was kinda like being at the top of the hill of a roller-coaster…about to enjoy the ride, but for a brief second thinking “Oh my! What am I doing here?’

After class, however, we enjoyed some laughs (and chugged some water)! I’m so thankful for R. and the adventures she talks me into. Everyone needs a younger sister! ;-)
