I Live Here-Part 1: Wardrobes and Wifi

Sumreen came up to Brussels this weekend.  Friday, we joined my boss and her friends for Steve Winwood at the AB.  You think I'm kidding, don't you?  Oh no.  (But it was the least I could do since Tayce and her husband went to James Taylor with me the first week I arrived.) We had a really funny time.

Saturday, after some good times with friends in the morning, we were served a giant slice of humble pie.  We consider ourselves pretty modern women...and there isn't too much that slows us down...but some pressboard furniture from IKEA nearly killed us Saturday afternoon...seriously.  It almost fell on our heads and then defeated our confidence in reading caveman directions.  Same thing with trying to set up my wifi at home.  We decided to cut our losses and went out for thai.

Today, we met up with some of my loveliest friends for a wander through the flea market and quick coffee, before jetting back to the apartment to meet Nicholas (friend and colleague) who proceeded to put the wardrobe together without missing a beat; and then Sumreen's friend from the Embassy here stopped by for a visit and was able to fix my wifi in about 10 minutes. There's some lesson about community, humility, and maybe, possibly, knowing when to call in the professionals!

In any case, it was a treat to have Sumreen here.  And to continue unpacking...all that's left are the suitcases!  If the arrival of my sofa last week wasn't proof enough, I now have a wardrobe and the internet...I think it's home.  Huzza!  I live here.
