...so as sad as it is to hear of all the retirements at the RenCen, it is more than really cool to hear of the plans folks are making for the next chapters of their lives. For example:
Deborah is starting a marriage ministry with her husband and will be doing seminars, teaching Bible study, and a host of other administrative duties that come her way -- she won't be bored!!!
Tom is going to share the wealth of his knowledge of the free market by teaching economics at a local university. Lucky students. His passion and enthusiasm for learning is catching! No doubt, he'll also continue to follow the ups and downs of his beloved Red Birds (St. Louis Cardinals) too.
And Terry, my first boss, the guy who hired me as a summer intern and then hired me back the following year as big kid...the guy who, even after I moved out from under his wing, always had my back...well, we're just hoping he'll take some time to get his golf score close to his supersonic 16-year old son's game!
It's tough times in southeast Michigan, but sure seems like the region can only gain having folks like this investing their time, passions and pursuits in new ways.
