...just squeezing some lemons while making Rebekahs's (via Laura) couscous tossed salad for The Well's year-end BBQ later today.
Squeezing lemons reminded me of making lemonaid at Detroit Rescue Mission a year or so ago. As some of you know, once a month a group of us would head to The Oasis to help serve dinner--we'd don hairnets and plastic aprons keeping ourselves busy by generally cracking up the staff and the guests.
On one visit, we found a giant box of lemons about to go to waste....so when life handed us lemons...we made a giant vat of lemonaid. Oh my gosh....it was hilarious. Mike, Nancy, Damon and others squeezing their little hearts out--there must have been over 100 lemons...and then finding just the right combination of sugar and water...not too tart...not too sweet.
So refreshing--for us and our friends at DRMM.
