Walking to church

One of the best things about being at Tufts was the walkability of my life (though with the help of my friend Briony, we did use the car now and again...sometimes a girl needs a little suburban mall-time, you know!) But seriously, Boston is a very walkable city.

On Sundays I especially loved walking to the T station in Davis Square, where I lived, and riding into downtown to the Park Street stop, where my church, also conveniently called Park Street, was located.

I am thinking of this because I just walked to and from my church here in Detroit. A few months ago, we started holding our Sunday evening service at the Detroit School of the Arts--literally less than 2 blocks from my humble abode.

It sounds so simple and silly, but that two block walk gives me great joy. It's a part of my week that connects me to the hope I have for my kind of town, Detroit is....
