The New Letter

I remember lamenting the end of the art of letter writing when email took off. It was easy to see the days of opening the mailbox to find a handwritten gem from a friend were numbered. In some cases, we tried to carry on the old fashioned tradition, but life got busier and busier...to the point where even writing an email more than three lines long seemed like something too hard to find time for...so instead of resisting change, I decided sometimes you have to embrace it.

Enter the blog.

I've been slow to enter the blog world--even while greatly admiring the creations of others. But then some sad news about an old friend who I'd lost touch with over the years reminded me that life is short and there are people I love spread all over this world. Near or far, I want to share my life with you in more than just infrequent soundbites.

We'll see how this goes.
