It's a fine line

Sometimes I'm unsure what to share with you about this experience in Brussels. You can probably tell that I'm really enjoying my time here. And believe me, that's as crazy to me as it may be to you.

I mean, I expected to have a good time...sorta like a semester abroad...and then be ready to return to the D.

But I'm actually praying and hoping that, as the Lord wills, my time would be extended here. It isn't that I love Detroit or any of my family/friends/community there any less. But I just don't feel done here.

And by not done, I mean more than sight-seeing in Europe. (Though there is a little more of that I'd like to do too!)

My heart feels at home here right now. Even when I try to convince it otherwise. I was reminded of that tonight while walking home. I felt this joy and lightness way down in the center of me.

Just want to be honest with you.

Well, Jodi, if it is God who isn't done with you there, then I guuuueeeeessssss it will be all right with me too. ;)

No, really, though, you are blooming where you have been planted, and that is fabulous.

And, distance doesn't separate the Body of Christ. I am so proud that I am considered a member of the same Body as you! Whether you're in the D or in the B!

God's timing is never our own. He called you there for a purpose and that purpose is not through. Keep seeking His will and, in the meantime, enjoy it!! God is good, all the time. :) We miss you. But love knowing that you are right where you are supposed to be.

Dear Jodi!
I'm keeping tabs on your blog...
Don't be conflicted about staying in Brussels! (as if there are ANY big choices about which we AREN'T conflicted - Hah!)

We want you to come home after you are satisfied with your stay in Brussels, not before. You have the whole rest of your life to live in Detroit if you like, so give Brussels as much time as the company will let you girl!
:)

I can understand that feeling. I don't think those of us who know you well are going to take it personally.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I'd be excited for you if God opened the door for you to stay longer. Not that I won't continue to miss you.... :)
