I was riding a wave of fear earlier today....wobbling, going under. Then some sweet words from sweet friends who have also found themselves on that wave helped me regain a little balance. And then, my other favourite sing-songwriter, Carrie Newcomer, posted this little gem on Facebok:
Waves of hope eventually meet a breaker wall. But water is not like stone, it doesn't hit a seawall becoming dust & rubble. Hope, like water is fluid & changes shape-it seeps in the cracks, flows over the wall, slides back & reforms itself for the next motion forward. Hope may seem to evaporate for the moment in spray & air, but it is only becoming rainwater, the stuff of the next wave. Be like water-be like hope.
Love it! Ymmmm! Lord, let the hope I have in you be like water...be the stuff of the next wave! (And maybe, too, could I find my voice for expressing things like ladies like Carrie and Sarah can?!)
