Life is full of despair and hope, ache and beauty. Yet in the bitterness of [our] suffering, [we] find the capacity to trust that “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him” and that “There may yet be hope.”
It connects for me with the conversation at The Well this month on meaninglessness; it's a bit of a struggle--this theme of meaninglessness. The Pollyanna in me would rather not go there, I think. But the Mars Hill series on Lamentations is supplementing the meaningless conversation nicely...and combined, what I think I'm discovering is that the only way to get there is to go there. Not alone, however, but with God and your friends.
