I love the Rich Mullins song ‘If I Stand’. (Who am I kidding—is there a Rich Mullins song I don’t love?!) It pulls together powerful images that inspire me, encourage me and make me stop and say ‘wow’—prairies, oceans, friends, babies, sun and moon. And then reminds me that God is speaking to us through all of it, but is still bigger and more amazing, brighter and more loving than all those things combined.
Everything of God gets expressed in Christ, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don't need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.
