Peu de maison sur la prairie

One of the highlights of my trip to Brussels this week was flipping around the TV stations and stumbling on Little House on the Prairie dubbed in french. I'm not kidding.

Little House was/is one of my favorite shows ever...so perhaps I can convince my Berlitz teacher that the best way for me to learn french is to watch hours and hours of Peu de maison sur la prairie?!

(are you singing the theme song now like I am?)

favorite.show.ever!

I've got season 4 and 5 on dvd if you want to borrow it : )

We didn't have a tv growing up, so when my sister and I would come to Michigan for the summer to stay with our grandparents, my mom sneakily set up this deal with my grandma that I would have to read one chapter in a book before I could watch the show. Seeing that it started at 9:05 every morning I had to be up and ready and reading long before then : ) Smart lady she is

I remember a few whining fits about it being too hard to read and it being unfair, but by the time our month was up I had read book 1-10 of the bobsey twins and watched little house every morning : )

My grandma always had to tell me to stop acting like an ornery Nellie Oleson... in fact, she still tells me that : )

I think you should totally watch it in French while you're in Brussels...tv is great practice for language learning

J - I have to admit that I have probably seen every single episode of Little House that was ever made. I was fascinated by it when I was a kid. (maybe I still am - I'm not sure).

I hope that fun little surprises continue to pop up for you in Brussels!

Sometimes I call Matthew our little half-pint. I think it was a right of passage. I'm sure if I flipped by it on the tv, I would be glued for hours.

Funny, I can't remember the theme song right now though.
