I love watching things grow

Calm before the storm here tonight.  Just chilling in my apartment.  Feeling the evening breeze go from warm to cool. Listening to my neighbors' giggles several terraces over and the sound of loud music (perhaps at Flagey) in the background. Chatting via google-chat with friends---Katie in Texas...Rachel in the D.  SMSing friends here and there...loving that I can tell my peeps 2 blocks away or 200 km away that I'm thinking of them.  Reading. Praying. Pondering. Puttering.

Just watered my little herb garden.  I originally had big plans for plants on the terrace (must post pictures of my terrace---I'm mildly obsessed), but spring travels got the better of me.  So instead I picked up a few little pots of my most favorite herbs--basil, mint and parsley.  They're the new objects of my affection and I just delight in watching them grow.

I love life in a city. But I'm always going to need a little patch of green near me too.  Always going to need to hear the wind blowing through some trees and think Tahquamenon Falls. Always going to need something to water and watch grow!
