Gratitude

I’ve always loved the song “Gratitude” by Natalie Nordeman. As I listened to it tonight, it reminded me of the story of Job from the Bible. We are talking about his story this month at the Well. It’s a book of the Bible that has always intimidated me a bit, just slightly less than Revelation! I mean the guy was doing everything right, and then wham-bam! Total chaos. Lost his family, his fields, his friends…and came down with a rather nasty case of boils! And even as he asked God why and as he begged God to bring his suffering to an end, he never lost hope in God’s faithfulness, justice and goodness.
