Eyes wide open

...in Romania for a few days to help dear friends celebrate their marriage! So happy for them, so happy to be here, joining in their joy.

...my head is so full of thoughts these days. Looking for some time to let them wander out.

...read again my favorite Adrienne Rich poems yesterday sitting in a Starbucks in the Vienna Airport. This line popped out to me: 'I am stepping in this deep current. Part of my life washing behind me, terror I couldn't swim, with part of my life waiting for me, a part I had no words for. I need to live each day through, have them, and know them all...' Know them all. Know them all.

...some random googling yesterday (5-hour layover in an airport, you know?) and I found myself looking at Martin Luther's seal. Giggled remembering many elementary school craft projects involving that seal...I especially remember one that used glitter...I think my Mom might even have it saved in the box of my childhood creations. Anyway, reading the meaning of the seal made me thankful for all those years at St. Peters and Lutheran North. Shaped me in more ways than I can probably realize.

...speaking of shaping...traveling with two of the people I admire, respect, and trust most...such a gift!

That's all for now. Off to explore a bit of Timisoara.

Cheers!
